For ages K- 8.Summer Camp begins immediately after school lets out for the summer break.
The summer camp program is a continuation of the WMA philosophy with structured classes,
appropriate social skills, and therapy sessions as needed. One half of the day is strictly
academics where teachers teach the subjects taught during the year for new students. The
core subjects are continued for returning students. Individual programs can be designed to
include a diagnosis for mastery levels in all subjects. A progress report is sent home on a
weekly basis. Homework is encouraged if the need is there.
Individual programs are set up for each student.
The other half of the day is a scheduled outing which includes various activities
(swimming, bowling, crafts, visits and tours of museums in and around Houston, etc.) and
the Social Skills Program which encourages students to interact appropriately.
Appropriate behavior and consistent interactions are regarded as crucial to growth and
movement to the next phase of development.
